GENERAL CONDITIONS
Included in the price:
- PREMIUM SERVICE delivery of the car at the airport and offices. For deliveries to other addresses, put in comments. For deliveries at the Airport, we will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall with a sign with our name, MENORCA VAN RENTAL, and we will accompany you to the reserved car.
- 1-hour courtesy period from the pick-up time (prior notice to Menorca Van Rental).
- Unlimited mileage.
- VAT.
- Free additional driver.
- Compulsory insurance included with civil liability
In the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle, it is mandatory for the client to fill out an accident/damage report and deliver it to our office. Likewise, in case of theft of the vehicle, the client is obliged to report it to the Police and deliver the report to our office.
Any accident or damage to the vehicle that is not reported will be interpreted as negligence on the part of the client and the client may incur additional expenses.
Not covered by insurance and considered extras:
And therefore the following cases of loss or damage will be borne by the client:
- Damage caused by reckless driving or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
- Fines and traffic penalties.
- Damage caused to the underside of vehicles, heels and clutch
- Hits with curbs, sidewalks, pivots, stones and lampposts damaging rims, tires, bodywork, etc.
- Lost or broken vehicle key.
- Refueling with incorrect fuel.
- Towing service (only when the client incurs negligence not covered by insurance).
- Menorca Van Rental is not responsible for objects that could be forgotten inside the vehicle by the renter.
- Premium insurance (without excess)
Availability of chairs and boosters for children.
ATTENDANCE
24 hours, 365 days a year.
FUEL POLICY
Menorca Van Rental does not charge gasoline or refueling in advance. The car is delivered full and returned full. In the case of electric cars, the car will be delivered with the battery recharged, with a minimum of 75%. In the event that it is not returned with the same amount of battery or gasoline/diesel charge, Menorca Van Rental reserves the charge of €25 for the management of refueling or recharging the vehicle and subsequent filling paying the amount of fuel recharged.
TRAFFIC FINES
Menorca Van Rental will charge an administrative fee of €20 (VAT included) to the client when we receive a traffic fine. MENORCA VAN RENTAL is required by law to provide the authorities with the data of customers who receive a traffic fine during the rental period.
This rate does not include the payment of the traffic fine; It will be the client who has to make the payment of the same directly with the authorities.
ABANDONMENT OF THE VEHICLE
Customers who leave the vehicles in a place other than the one agreed in the rental contract will be responsible for the costs generated by the breach of the contract. In addition, apart from the daily rental rate, a daily penalty charge of €20 (VAT included) will be applied.
RESTRICTIONS
- Vehicles may not leave the island of Menorca under any circumstances.
- Clients will have to provide us with a local address (flat, apartment, villa, hotel, etc.)
- The minimum age of the driver is 26 years, with a driving license for more than 24 months
- Maximum age to rent 75 years.
- If the reserved vehicle category is not available at the time of collection, a higher category will be provided at no additional cost
- The insurance does not cover, in any case, accidents and damages caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medications or any other substance that reduces the driver’s capacity, as well as when the driver is not authorized to drive the leased vehicle or Even if it is, the accident occurs in breach of the provisions of the contract or the elementary rules of circulation
- Any complaint must always be reported within 24 hours after taking the vehicle, that is, claims made after this period of time has elapsed.
- In case of returning the vehicle before the end date of the contract, no amount will be refunded.
STANDARD OR EXTREME CLEANING
The rental price includes a standard cleaning of the vehicle, however, in the event that the vehicle is returned in a state of extreme dirt, MENORCA VAN RENTAL will be forced to charge €30 for special cleaning.
Smoking is totally prohibited
Smoking inside the vehicle is totally prohibited, as well as any damage to the vehicle’s upholstery. It will incur a cleaning cost of €250 to recondition the vehicle,
BOOKING CANCELLATION
Cancellations without penalty must be made at least 48 hours before the start of the rental, which will be understood as 08:00 on the first day. Otherwise, the following will apply: – Between 48 and 24 hours, 30% of the total agreed price will be paid. – Less than 24 hours, 100% of the total agreed price will be paid.
MENORCA VAN RENTAL reserves the right to cancel a reservation within a maximum period of 48 hours, once the reservation has been received. As a consequence, the full amount will be disbursed to the user.
LATE RETURN OF THE VEHICLE
If the vehicle is returned later than the date agreed in the rental contract, the insurance will be invalidated and the client will be responsible for the payment of €20 per day (VAT included). In addition to this payment, the client will also be responsible for paying the daily rental rate.
PICK UP OF THE VEHICLE AT THE AIRPORT
The client will pay the costs of the parking ticket at the Menorca airport at the time of collection. The amount of the ticket will not exceed €5, and otherwise the customer can claim the amount exceeded, except for deliveries between 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m., when it can be up to €10. MENORCA VAN REN TAL will be responsible for the parking ticket when the customer returns the vehicle at the end of their contract.
— Customers who return the car to the Airport must leave the car unlocked with key and parking ticket in the glove box. In the event of returning the vehicle to the wrong car park (another airport car park, yellow line, loading and unloading, etc.), the resulting costs will be borne by the customer who parked the car, even if the date of the penalty is later than the expiration of the lease
In case of not being able to attend to the reservation of a car, MENORCA VAN RENTAL reserves the right to accrue the rental service of the same to another company in the sector with the same conditions.
